Residential Real Estate Law Clerk- Mortgage Clerk

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare clearance letters and read compliance letters
- Draft off title searches summary
- Conduct title searches and lands searches via Teraview
- Conduct corporate searches online or order from agents
- Draft various documents in Teraview or Conveyancer including: transfers, mortgage documents, applications, lease documents, subdivision documents, and LTT affadavits
- Help draft and amend correspondence and closing documents
- Diarize calendar and follow up
- Prepare disbursement statement and draft bills
- Close completed files, keep outstanding files organized and accessible
- Handle administrative tasks
Qualifications
- College diploma in a related field
- At least 3 years experience in a real estate law firm preparing legal documents such as transfers, mortgages and document generals
- Law firm background is an asset
- Must be very organized and have excellent time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Client-service orientated with a professional telephone manner
