Cartel Inc. is proud to partner with one of Ontario’s most respected litigation firms in the search for a talented Mass Tort & Personal Injury Lawyer. This is not an ordinary associate role — it is an opportunity to step into complex, high-profile matters that truly shape lives and influence the legal landscape.
In this role, you will work on sophisticated, multi-party litigation files ranging from pharmaceutical and medical device claims to catastrophic injury and large-scale negligence matters. You will collaborate closely with senior counsel, medical specialists, and technical experts while building your own reputation in some of the province’s most meaningful and impactful cases.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Take ownership of complex personal injury and mass tort files from intake through resolution
- Draft advanced pleadings, conduct discoveries, and represent clients at mediations, pre-trials, motions, and hearings
- Build compelling cases by analyzing medical records, expert opinions, liability assessments, and actuarial evidence
- Retain and instruct leading medical and technical experts to strengthen trial strategy
- Negotiate high-value settlements and contribute to trial preparation on significant matters
- Partner closely with senior litigators to develop thoughtful, results-driven litigation strategies
What We’re Looking For
- LL.B. or J.D. with active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience in personal injury, mass tort, or complex litigation
- Strong courtroom presence with experience before the Superior Court of Justice
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Confidence managing files independently while thriving in a collaborative team
- Solid grounding in negligence law, the Insurance Act, and class proceedings
Nice to Have
- Exposure to class actions or multi-jurisdictional mass tort litigation
- Experience with catastrophic injury files (TBI, spinal cord, complex causation)
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term specialty within tort litigation
