Litigation Legal Assistant/Receptionist
Our Client, a Toronto boutique law firm, with top-level clientele, is looking for a Legal Assistant/Receptionist to join their beautiful downtown office. They require someone who is highly organized and personable, with a minimum of only one year experience as a Receptionist/Assistant in a law firm setting.

Salary: Up to $50K
Qualifications
- 1+ years’ experience working in a law firm in the area of litigation.
- Exposure to court and ministry forms within the litigation practice areas
- Understanding of Rules of Civil Procedure
- Knowledge of business and legal terminology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent organizational and proof-reading skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with ease
- Excellent technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Calendar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to produce a high quality and quantity of work, occasionally under tight timelines
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner and provide exceptional client service
- Possesses excellent problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of working with confidential information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Exposure to PC Law and Automated Civil Litigation an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update briefs and other court documents, correspondence and administrative materials
- Compile affidavit of documents, arrange discoveries and serve notices of examination
- Schedule court appearances, motions, Chambers appointments and commercial list matters
- Keep cases organized by establishing and maintaining files. Schedule, monitor and maintain calendars and meeting deadlines. Documents and follows up on actions required
- Co-ordinate lawyer meetings. Book travel and make reservations as required
- Manage new business intake, conduct conflict check and opens new files
- Organize and accurately maintain correspondence
- Review files and transfer inactive materials to storage according to Firm guidelines
- Provide administrative support which includes (but not limited to) eDiscovery coding, binding, photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing and other duties as needed
- Assist with special projects and other duties as required
