Our client, a well-established firm in Stouville and Aurora is hiring. The role involves performing searches, managing purchases and files, drafting correspondences and other miscellaneous tasks. The successful candidate will be flexible, have a keen eye for details and will demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
Location: York
As a Law Clerk, your responsibilities include:
- Assist all lawyers in the firm with any type of Teraview registration and/or searches.
- Perform PPSA searches, Corporate Searches, Title searches, Off-Title Searches, interpret the results of same and complete checklists for review by the responsible lawyer.
- Manage and complete purchase and mortgage files
- Commercial/residential purchases, sales, mortgages, refinancing, lending
- Draft and coordinate documents required for closing
- Drafting of various internal and external correspondence
- Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure a smooth closing of transactions.
- Update legal assistant with any changes required to Closing List in a timely manner for all files under your supervision.* Daily and accurate billing on all matters.
- Other duties as assignedWhat you’ll bring
- 3+ years experience as a Real Estate Law Clerk
- Extensive experience completing purchase, sale and mortgage transactions.
- Experience with UNITY, Teraview and PC Law
- An ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently on multiple files simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commercial real estate experience an asset.
