Salary: Up to $90K (Based on Experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Organizing and maintaining litigation files
- Preparing documents, pleadings, claims, motion materials, affidavits of documents, mediation, bills of costs and pre-trial memoranda
- Summarization of transcripts of examinations for discovery and preparation of lists of undertakings and refusals
- Ensuring compliance with undertakings given at discovery and organization and evaluation of materials received in response to undertakings
- Management of electronic data for Discovery and Trial
- Trial preparation
- Assist in the overall management of litigation practice
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in Insurance Defence as a Law Clerk
- Knowledge of Summation, Eclipse and other industry standard litigation support software experience an asset
- Well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong investigative, fact-finding and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to process a high volume of documentation with excellent attention to detail
- Efficient docketing and time management skills
