Salary: Up to $55K
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting Statement of Claims, Notice of Change of Lawyer, all pleadings
- Filing all court orders online through JSO portal
- Coordinating between client and lawyer and handling all correspondence
- Responding to section 33
- Requesting all productions including doctor offices, hospitals, employment insurance etc
- Update attorney calendars with court dates, filing deadlines, and other important events
- Coordinate service of process activities between parties involved in a dispute or lawsuit
- Draft and edit pleadings submitted by attorneys prior to filing them in court
- Prepare discovery requests and responses
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
- Keep firm’s database updated with new information for cases and managed client records, policies and documents to facilitate work of litigation team
- Draft legal pleadings, motions and dismissals for closed cases
- Facilitate communication between attorneys, clients, and court personnel
- Respond to client calls and inquiries to deliver applicable information
Qualifications
- 1-3 years relevant experience within a Canadian law firm
- 3 years knowledge of the SABS
- Experience working with PrimaFact
- Knowledge of all tort claims, discoveries, mediations, pre- trial and trial
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive client interactions with care
- Exceptional multitasking skills and attention to detail to manage high-volume tasks efficiently
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Works well in a collaborative environment while also taking initiative independently
