IP Litigation Law Clerk (Contract)

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the IP litigation database, organize and manage large files through e-discovery
- Summarize discovery evidence, prepare affidavits of documents, draft pre-trial and mediation memoranda
- Review transcripts and complete undertakings
- Assisting with preparation for motions and trials including preparation of costs outlines or bill of costs
- Drafting pleadings, orders and judgments, notice of motions and affidavits
- Review and analyze documents
- Assist with drafting correspondence and all litigation documents
- Act as a liaison between lawyer/client and lawyer/opposing counsel
- Produce the highest quality of work

Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years’ experience relevant to the responsibilities above, preferably at a large law firm
- Completion of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certification
- Membership in good standing with Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario
- Successful completion of a post-secondary Law Clerk program
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required and/or necessary
- Docket time
- Ability to work in the office
- Knowledge of the Federal Courts Rules and the Rules of Civil Procedure
- In depth knowledge and understanding of e-discovery software including IPRO and Relativity
- Familiar with ACL
- Superior computer skills with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication
