Our client, a highly regarded business law firm known for its exceptional client service, is recruiting for legal assistants. As a legal assistant, you will be assisting lawyers and maintain filing system, routine documents and correspondence and so on. The successful candidate should demonstrate exceptional client service capabilities, be able to work independently and as part of a team, have the capability to manage a busy practice and exhibit exceptional communication skills.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Location: Toronto
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain an efficient filing system for both electronic and hard copy files.
- Prepare routine documents and correspondence related to the practice area.
- Organize/collect material for various deals and transactions and summarize this information, as needed.
- Performance of full clerical, administrative and general office duties, including opening and closing files, entering dockets, preparing proformas, account letters and invoices.
- Assist with general practice management, including coordination of meetings, managing calendars and making travel arrangements.
- Handle all related accounting procedures and any other administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
- Completion of a recognized college Law Clerk or Legal Administration Diploma.
- Minimum 2-3 years of corporate law experience working in a law firm.
- Strong technical skills and proficient in Microsoft Office 2013 and Document Management Systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; organized and meticulous with follow-up details and is able to take initiative, prioritize and multi-task.
