Key Responsibilities
- Conduct corporate and lien searches, review results and reports received and revise as necessary
- Correspond with extra-provincial counsel, as well as Montreal and New York offices for lien searches and review results received and revise as necessary
- Provide assistance to students, lawyers and senior law clerk, including managing registration chart preparation and maintenance, preparation of precedent form documents and corresponding with counsel
- Obtain status and/or compliance certificates in Ontario, federally and from local counsel in all other provinces and territories, as required
- Preparation of financing statements and financing change statements in Ontario
- Arrange for the preparation of financing statements and financing change statements by extra-provincial counsel and review draft materials received
- Draft standard documentation for banking transactions
- Review documentation received by opposing counsel for banking transactions
- Coordinating closing documentation, deliverables and closing books for banking transactions
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years transaction work experience required
- Progressively learning a working and practical knowledge of PPSA
- Strong administrative, organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong computer skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
