Accounting Manager – Hybrid Remote
Salary: Up to $100K+

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports, including month and year end
- Staff training with PCLaw
- Managing disbursements and billings
- Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Responsible for completion of LSO Annual Report for all lawyers
- Managing LawPro Professional Liability Insurance matters
- Transaction levies
- Responsible for reconciliation of all Trust and general accounts and ensuring that all transactions and documentation pertaining to trust matters, comply with LSO rules
- Responsible for all entries, adjusting entries and reconciliations on a monthly and annual basis
- Maintain all benefits program
- Bonus/compensation calculations for lawyers
- Maintain Equitrac
- Review all bank accounts online daily
- Prepare and post bank deposits
- Allocate expenses to appropriate accounts
- Preparing daily cash flow report for the managing partner
- Maintain fixed assets register (determine if any purchase should be considered a fixed asset)
- Prepare monthly management companies’ invoices
- Calculation, filing and payment of HST for the partnership and management companies
- Payroll – set up new hires in ADP payroll system – reconcile payroll
- Reconcile and file EHT in the end of the year
- T4’s reconciliation
- Opening new files in PCLaw
- Liaison with the firm’s bank and CPA
- Other day-to-day duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working in a similar role from a law firm would be preferable
- Business Finance degree or Accounting Designation (CPA, CGA) with post qualification experience
- Prior working knowledge of PC law an asset
- 5+ years hands-on experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to works well in a team-based environment
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with solid grammar
- Strong professional leadership and development abilities, good interpersonal and strong people management skills
