Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education in Finance & Accounting;
- Previous eBilling and/or accounting experience, preferably in a law firm environment;
- Excellent organizational; record-keeping and time-management skills;
- Able to work successfully in a professional, service-oriented environment;
- Thorough working knowledge of PCLaw;
- Strong computer skills including LEDES management and MS Office programs: particularly Word and Excel;
- Prior experience with TyMetrix, Serengeti, CounseLink, or similar platforms is preferred;
- Research and problem solving skills with the ability to exercise judgment to resolve technical issues;
- Working within a team-oriented environment that encompasses all aspects of the day-to-day eBilling and collections operations;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to prioritize and juggle several tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for processing pre-bills and submission and coordination of monthly billings for eBilling clients through various eBilling platforms;
- Responsible for administering new and existing eBilling implementations across new and existing platforms;
- Maintaining accurate client and matter information with regard to eBilling in our billing system and vendor platforms;
- Following up on rejected eBilled invoices with lawyers, legal assistants and the client;
- Resolving issues with respect to partial payments received from clients;
- Assisting with training of timekeepers and legal assistants on the client eBilling requirements;
- Assisting with and recommendations on eBilling process improvements including developing efficient ways to improve quality and customer service;
- Following up with office manager, client billing services and lawyers as required regarding overdue accounts;
- Monitoring the new file opening report for clients and ensuring matters are set up appropriately for eBilling;
- Assisting with various accounting functions, including processing day-to-day cheques and banking;
- Assisting with accounts payable and data entry;
- Abiding by Firm policies and handling confidential materials and documents.
