Legal Administrative Assistant- Intellectual Property (4067) Full Time

Our client, one of Toronto’s most sought-after firms, is looking to hire! They are seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support their Intellectual Property team. (Patent Law Experience is preferred) The ideal candidate for this position must be well-rounded and has experience working in a fast-paced law firm. Primary Duties Include:

  • Prepare and file Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications and related materials
  • Online filing of patent applications, responses to Office Actions and other materials]
  • Maintain records of all client files and prepare client reporting letters
  • Prepare and edit correspondence and legal documents
  • Process Expense Reports
  • Docket Entry
  • Coordinate and monitor administrative functions to ensure completion of work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Other duties as required  
 
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications
  • Successful completion of Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma
  • Advanced technical skills (including Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Knowledge of PATTSY is an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as through proofreading skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with all levels of staff and clientele
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
