Senior Insurance Defence Legal Assistant (Tort)
Hybrid Remote
Salary: Up to $68K
Our Client, a top-tier, industry-leading Toronto law firm, is seeking a Senior Insurance Defence Legal Assistant to work one-on-one with the firm’s experienced and friendly Partner on a hybrid remote basis. They are looking for someone who is organized, detailed and has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in insurance defence, ready to hit the ground running. Your responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing documents, correspondence with clients, and other administrative tasks. Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Insurance Defence
- Legal Assistant Diploma
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
- Must thrive under pressure and prioritize effectively while paying attention to detail
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team setting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Technical proficiency (MS Office Suite, TimeMatters, PCLaw and/or Primafact
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting legal documents (including motion records, pre-trial/mediation memos, pleadings etc.)
- Dealing with authorizations, undertakings, discoveries and productions
- Drafting correspondence Notices of examination, statements of claim
- Reviewing medical documentation Trial preparation
- Interviewing witnesses and medical experts
- Maintaining daily contact with clients
- Other general duties as required
