Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of documents for incorporations, amendments, dissolutions, amalgamations, continuance and corporate reorganizations for both Provincial and Federal Corporations and Not-For-Profits.
- Registering, amending, renewing and cancelling business names and partnerships together with preparation of documents to authorize same.
- Minute Book administration.
- Attending to government filings.
- Asset and Share sale/purchase transactions.
- Preparing and drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years’ legal experience with a background in Corporate and Wills.
- Strong computer knowledge in the following programs: Office365, Appara, TeraView, eCore (or similar), Ontario Business Registry, PPSA registration systems, and LEAP.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients, lawyers and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment occasionally under tight timelines;
- Must be organized, and meticulous with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Possess a strong aptitude for working with numbers.
- Successful Completion of a related post-secondary education program is required.
