Corporate Legal Assistant

Key Responsibilities
- All assistant functions relating to document production, including typing from written notes or transcribing voicemails;
- Maintain lawyers’ calendars and established filing systems including BFs;
- Assist with file preparation and management;
- Type and revise contracts, agreements or other legal documents;
- Organize and assemble document books;
- Become familiar with files, clients and key contacts;
- Communicate with and/or respond to clients in a professional and timely manner;
- Liaise with assistants and other lawyers on file progress;
- Proof-read (documents, letters, memos, etc.);
- Enter timesheets and assist with billing cycle such as preparing and issuing invoices to clients, assisting with collection/payment of invoices, etc.;
- Provide general administrative support to lawyer;
- Organize flights and hotel accommodations; and
- Complete other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Corporate legal assistant; and
- Formal Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal/Law Clerk education and training an asset
- Ability to remain productive within a time-sensitive and fast-paced environment;
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities;
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with clients;
- Must be accurate and detail-oriented;
- Proficient at proof-reading;
- Ability to manage large case files;
- Ability to exercise strong initiative, judgment and confidentiality;
- Dedicated to providing quality service to clients to consistently exceed expectations; and
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
