Key Responsibilities
Solid knowledge of Real Estate including Commercial Lending
Understanding of Bank commitment letters and identifying terms for document preparation and funding
Experience searching title, reading Parcel Pins with knowledge of search and instruments.
Can read searches and identify title issues, encumbrances etc. to bring to lawyer’s attention
Thorough knowledge of Teraview system and documents, including preparation of all Teraview documentation and registration.
Knowledge of title insurance and specifically First Canadian Title insurance
Due diligence expertise
Preparation of documentation and letters regarding commercial real estate lending, including electronic registration documentation and all security documents for review by the lawyer
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the legal industry
Team-player attitude with strong communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to multi-task and manage your time in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn
Attention to detail
Maintain strict confidentiality
Strong working knowledge of all accounting and billing procedures
Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma an asset
