Salary: Up to $80K
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bank recovery files from intake through to enforcement with minimal supervision
- Draft and file pleadings, affidavits, default judgments, motion records, writs of seizure and sale, garnishments, and other enforcement documents
- Track and manage court deadlines and limitation periods
- Liaise with process servers, courts, clients, and opposing counsel
- Monitor responses, coordinate service, and follow up on court filings and procedural steps
- Maintain well-organized, up-to-date files in accordance with firm policies
- Prepare reports and documentation to support lawyers and client communications
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in bank recovery and litigation within a law firm setting
- Proven proficiency in drafting and filing pleadings, default judgments, garnishments, writs, and motion records
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and Small Claims Court processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Effective communication and client service skills
- Proficiency with legal software and document management systems (e.g. ACL, Primafact, PC Law, etc.)
- Law Clerk diploma or equivalent training preferred
