Corporate Search Law Clerk (Assets)
We’re working with a distinguished law firm client known for its supportive leadership and a genuinely welcoming team culture — and they’re looking to add a Law Clerk with a focus on Corporate and Asset Searches. If you’ve had any exposure to search work or corporate lending, this could be a great fit. The role starts with thorough training and transitions into a hybrid model (3 days in office) once you’re comfortable. Salary: $55K – $85K (Based on Experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts and summarizes searches under the PPSA
- Coordinates due diligence searches to disclose registrations of security interests in personal property under the Bank Act and other relevant statutes
- Prepares and registers security interests under the PPSA
- Prepares drafts of transaction documents relating to commercial lending and secured financing transactions.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience as a law clerk in commercial lending or conducting corporate searches
- Strong understanding of the Personal Property Security Act and other relevant statutes, regulations, and compliance requirements as well as a grounding in secured lending and financing transactions
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent client service and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficiency in computer applications and legal databases
