Looking to kick-start your career in accounting and administration? Our Client, a well-established firm, is looking for a Junior Accounting and Administrative Clerk to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to gain hands-on experience, with full training provided in Acumin software. Salary: Up to $45K
Key Responsibilities
- Issue all cheques from Trust and General accounts
- Post daily Sundry Disbursements including all certified and NSF cheque charges, all corporate supplies and company registrations charges (Oncorp/ECore)
- Process cheque deposits, get cheques certified when required
- Process credit card payments on terminals and post to files
- Convert Westlaw charges from Text documents to Excel spreadsheets, format and post charges to file
- Assist in posting all client bills and write offs
- Assist in processing all trust transfers for account payments
- Assist in obtaining wire instructions (Cdn. and US) from lawyers, process on-line, post to file
- Notify bank of lost or stale-dated cheques & post cancellations to file
- Assist in bank reconciliations
- Assist in training new employees in Accounting procedures
- Maintain storage database for Accounting records
- Refill postage meter with funds when low and transmit product data as prompted
- Any other tasks that arise as needed
Qualifications
- 1+ of relevant accounting or administrative experience is required
- Law firm experience an asset
- Acumin software experience an asset
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines without supervision
- Solid people skills
- A team player who can also work independently
