Salary: Up to 85K (Based on Experience)
Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Finance with maintaining the general ledger, including posting journal entries and supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare financial statements and management reports
Analyse financial data and provide variance analysis
Support budgeting and forecasting activities
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and schedules
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
Review and support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required
Maintain accurate financial records within the firm’s accounting system
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
Progress toward or completion of a CPA designation is preferred
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Knowledge of legal trust accounting procedures is considered an asset
Experience using Soluno or other legal accounting software
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication and teamwork skills
