About the Role
This position offers significant involvement across every phase of the litigation process. From early case assessment and strategy development through mediation, motions, discoveries, and trial preparation, associates are entrusted with substantive legal responsibilities and direct client interaction.

Key Responsibilities
The successful lawyer will:
Manage and advance litigation files from commencement through resolution
Draft pleadings, motion materials, affidavits, mediation briefs, and legal opinions
Conduct examinations for discovery and witness preparation
Attend mediations, judicial pre-trials, case conferences, and court proceedings
Assess liability, quantum, and coverage issues
Provide strategic advice to insurers and corporate clients
Liaise with adjusters, experts, investigators, and opposing counsel
Perform legal research and prepare written advocacy materials
Participate in settlement negotiations and dispute resolution processes
Assist with trial preparation and hearing strategy
Candidate Profile
Qualified applicants will possess:
Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
Minimum two years of post-call litigation experience
Background in insurance defence, civil litigation, personal injury, or related areas
Strong knowledge of Ontario litigation procedures and court rules
Experience handling files with a degree of independence
Excellent legal drafting and analytical abilities
Effective advocacy and communication skills
Strong organizational and practice management capabilities
Commitment to delivering exceptional client service
