Our client, a downtown real estate law firm, is seeking a Law Clerk/Legal Assistant with Commercial Real Estate experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience, work well independently, possess superior technical skills, and have a positive attitude.   • Open documents
  • Communicate with clients to take instructions, obtain information, and report on status
  • Prepare documents and letters regarding real estate matters/transactions
  • Organize/collect material for Residential Real Estate deals and summarize this information
  • Prepare reporting letters and reports
  • Close completed files, keep files organized and accessible, and reporting book list
  • Handle routine administrative details
  • Other duties as required


  • 5+ years of Commercial Real Estate experience within a law firm
  • Previous experience working with commercial loan transactions, financings, purchase and sale of properties
  • Successful completion of Legal Assistant and/or Law Clerk Diploma
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office, Tera view, Conveyancer and Outlook
  • Ability to liaise with legal assistants, law clerks, lawyers, clients and mortgage brokers
  • Ability to work with a file from start to finish, to take the initiative, prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on experience in both Residential and Commercial Real Estate working on behalf of individuals (purchase, sale, and financing) and financial institutions (banks, trust companies)
