Our client, a downtown Toronto law Firm is seeking to hire an intermediate Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk. This firm is known for providing expert legal advice to an array of clients.

Primary Duties Include
  • Manage large, sophisticated commercial real estate purchase, sale and finance files, with particular emphasis on commercial lending transactions and large scale real estate development
  • Carriage of files from commencement to completion
  • Review of commitment letters for commercial lending transactions
  • Draft and coordinate initial correspondence to borrower’s lawyers
  • Order and coordinate title, corporate and off-title searches
  • Review title searches, corporate searches and PPSA searches
  • Review title issues and summarize registered encumbrances
  • Draft loan documents and diarize critical dates required for closing
  • Draft requisition letters
  • Conduct title searches and subsearches
  • Electronic preparation and registration of documents via Teraview
  • Draft and assemble interim and final reports to corporate lenders, vendors, purchasers and mortgage companies
  • Organize closings
  • Other duties as required  
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of Commercial Real Estate experience within a top law firm
  • Law Clerk Diploma
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel/Word/Outlook)
  • Strong ability to work independently and proactively
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies in recordkeeping
