Our client is seeking a highly professional Law Clerk/Legal Assistant with Insurance Defence experience to support a busy Partner. The ideal candidate will have a at least 4 years’ experience, the ability to be flexible, time conscious with regards to deadlines, and have a positive attitude. Primary Duties Include

  • Drafting legal documents (including motion records, pre-trial/mediation memos, pleadings etc.)
  • Dealing with authorizations, undertakings, discoveries and productions
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Notices of examination, statements of claim
  • Reviewing medical documentation
  • Trial preparation
  • Interviewing witnesses and medical experts
  • Maintaining daily contact with clients
  • Other general duties as required
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Insurance Defence law
  • Law Clerk/Legal Assistant Diploma
  • Experience in managing a busy litigation practice
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Must thrive under pressure and prioritize effectively while paying attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Technical proficiency PrimaFact, TimeMatters and MS Office
