Law Clerk - Corporate (3731) Full Time

Job Description

Our client is seeking a confident, organized, self-starter to fill the position of Corporate Law Clerk located in downtown Toronto. Our ideal candidate is proactive, confident and has a dynamic personality. If this interests you, keep reading below! 

 Salary: $50- $60K

Primary Duties Include

  • Assisting with a variety of legal duties in the areas of Corporate, Wills & Estates, and Tax matters
  • Drafting documents to implement incorporations, organizations, amalgamations, reorganizations, dividends, annual resolutions
  • Conducting corporate and securities searches and analyzing filings
  • Preparing, maintaining and reviewing wills, codicils, powers of attorney and trust deeds
  • Assisting with tax litigation and dispute resolution processes
  • Conducting corporate securities searches and analyzing filings
  • Estate accounting using Excel
  • Using Emergent software to aid with probate applications
  • Preparing various tax forms such as CRA authorization forms
  • Other maintenance tasks and filings

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-year experience as a General Corporate Law Clerk
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary legal assistant/law clerk program
  • University degree preferred
  • Strong transactional experience
  • Knowledge in estates law, and tax dispute resolutions
  • Strong technical skills (including Excel) 
  • An ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently on multiple files simultaneously
