Legal Assistant – Litigation (Team Lead) (3621) Full Time

Our client, a specialized litigation firm is looking for a litigation assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will come with at least 5 years of experience working within litigation and be able to manage a team. Up to $75K

Primary Duties Include
  • Supporting 4 litigators with preparation of court documents, discovery and hearing preparation
  • Making travel reservations for lawyers and reimbursing travel expenses
  • Calendar management, filing, preparing and sending correspondence
  • Preparing court pleadings, filings, and other related documents
  • General practice management
  • Other administrative duties as required  

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm
  • Experience leading a team
  • Legal Assistant diploma
  • Ability to speak/write French is an asset but not required
  • Solid knowledge of and experience working with the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Court rules; and ability to learn and apply Rules in other jurisdictions as required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong Microsoft Word 2010 skills; experience with Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Highly organized, punctual, strong work ethic
