Job Description

Our client, a most respected personal injury law firm requires an Accident Benefit Legal Assistant to work as a Plaintiff Personal Injury Legal Assistant to a team of law clerks at their St. Catharines office. 1+ years of Plaintiff experience in Accident Benefits will get your foot in the door.  Bring your outgoing personality and professional attitude and we'll do the rest! 

Salary: Up to $45K

Primary Duties Include

  • Prepare letters to clients to inform them of assessments. ·         
  • Prepare Service providers forms for clients to sign, and then submit to the insurance company.
  • Submit Client expenses (OCF forms) to the insurance company ·         
  • Prepare referral letters to doctors 
  • Prepare CD’s of medical documents along with their index and prepare letters to the assessor
  • Retype releases          
  • Prepare letters to FSCO enclosing Application for Mediation or Arbitration
  • Fill out Application for Accident Benefits form (OCF-1)  
  • Schedule meetings, mediation, conference calls and booking boardrooms
  • Photocopying          
  • Faxing and mailing out client letters         
  • Perform additional administrative work as required
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications
  • 1 year+ of experience in Accident Benefits in the area of Plaintiff Personal Injury
  • Legal Assistant Certificate/Diploma        
  • Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Strong computer and typing skills
  • Knowledge of TimeMatters an asset
