Legal Assistant - Litigation (x2) (Contract) (3368) Full Time Contract

With offices across the country and overseas, our client is currently seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant. Candidates must have at least 3 years of Litigation experience. A strong attention to detail and technical skills are required. Exceptional organizational skills will be essential. Up to $60K

Primary Duties Include

  • Digital dictation, docket entry, preparation of accounts, opening files/closing Files, organizing and maintaining files
  • Preparation and editing of correspondence and legal documents including Pleadings, Orders, Consents/Authorizations, Affidavit of Documents, Motion Records, Pre-Trial Briefs and Trial Records
  • Coordinating lawyer travel arrangements, including preparing itineraries and travel expense reports
  • Review documentation and claims from new files
  • Organize and request productions and medical documentation from clients
  • Assist with authorizations, undertakings, discoveries and productions
  • Providing consistent backup support when assistants are absent, managing multiple tasks and working proactively as a positive and productive member of the team
  • Other duties as required  

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications                                   

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant
  • Experience with filings in the Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice, Divisional Court and Court of Appeal
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Capacity to perform duties with speed and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask while paying attention to detail
