Legal Assistant - Estates (3694) Full Time

Our highly respected Downtown Toronto client is seeking an experienced Estates Assistant with at least 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, strong document formatting abilities and be able to manage multiple priorities on a timely basis. Primary Duties Include

  • Organize and maintain client files
  • Manage incoming mail and emails
  • Prepare legal documents
  • Draft Powers of Attorney
  • Maintain Wills Vault 
  • Calendar management, scheduling meetings and book boardrooms
  • Follow-up with clients regrading Accounts Receivable
  • Arrange for memberships fees to be paid, conferences/webinars and submit expenses
  • Coordinate and monitor administrative functions to ensure completion of work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Act as liaison between clients and clerks/lawyers
  • Other duties as required

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Estates experience in a law firm
  • Legal Assistant Diploma
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team oriented atmosphere
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with all levels of staff and clientele
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Solid typing skills
