Senior Accounting Clerk – Financial Services (3276) Full Time

Job Description

$50K - $65K
Primary Duties Include

  • Supervise & train accounting staff and new employees
  • Deposit and invest trust funds and posts trust transactions daily
  • A/P & A/R experience including, credit card payments & reimbursement to Partners
  • Prepare all aspects of trust cheques, including cheque verification, processing stop payments and certified cheques not cashed
  • Keep up-to-date banking records
  • Perform bookkeeping work & resolve discrepancies in accounting records
  • Contact lawyers to obtain or relay account information
  • Data entry, filing, photocopying, organizing and reviewing records
  • Filing HST
  • Other administrative duties as required

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ of accounting experience within a law firm
  • Post-secondary diploma
  • Knowledge of Elite3E, PC Law, Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, team-oriented environment         
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
