Up to $55K

Primary Duties Include

  • Prepare necessary legal documents, resolutions and closing transactions, billing and expenses
  • Maintain filing system and database
  • Perform document version comparisons and revisions
  • Claim Analysis (findings and recommendations)
  • Return to Work (RTW) Program Development
  • Investigative Services Co-ordination (subcontracted to licensed / bonded PI)
  • Inter-provincial services: claims management and consulting services across Canada, including appeals representation (CSST/Quebec appeals services through Montreal-based resource)
  • Experience Rating Monitoring and Consultation (NEER, CAD7, MAPP in Ontario; other types in each jurisdiction)
  • Audit and Penalty Assessment consultation
  • Classifications and Account Structure Advice
  • Cost monitoring for Schedule 2 employers
  • Claims cost management (including SIEF, Transfer/Removal of Costs)
  • Case Review and/or Medical Opinion by In-House Medical Consultant
  • Health & Safety Program Design and Implementation
  • Compliance Safety Audits
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee Education and Support
  • WHMIS Training and Program Management
  • Safety Manual and policy development
  • Critical and Fatal Injury Investigations
  • Other duties as required

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in the legal or insurance industry
  • WSIB experience and a paralegal background
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Fast learner of new process and systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
