Legal Assistant – Financial Services (3194) Full Time

Job Description

Our client is a large full spectrum law firm in Toronto with an impressive 120 years of practicing law. They are seeking a corporate legal assistant with at least 5 years of experience, with an emphasis on financial services, and to work with a partner and an associate. Up to $60K

Primary Duties Include

  • Preparing necessary legal documents, resolutions and closing transactions, billing and expenses
  • Schedule Management
  • Maintenance of extensive filing system and databases
  • Coordinating Minute Book retrieval
  • Maintain the master corporate file spreadsheet
  • Work with all forms of legal documents
  • Docket editing and processing accounts
  • Monitor corporate stationery and order as required
  • Perform corporate and due diligence searches online as requested
  • Various other administrative tasks
  • Other administrative duties as required  

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in within corporate and commercial law
  • Legal Assistant Diploma plus additional courses an asset
  • Superior organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Stellar technical skills (including MS Office 2007)
  • Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize appropriately
  • Ability to be extremely detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work well in a busy team environment and have a positive attitude
