Junior Law Clerk/Assistant – Corporate Services (2906) Full Time

Salary: $40K - $45K

Primary Duties Include

  • Perform a variety of administrative duties including but not limited to: obtaining monthly WIP lists, reviewing Cyberbahn account, maintaining corporate records, minute books and databases including paper filing, electronic filing and updating required fields
  • Open and close corporate files
  • Prepare organization charts based on instructions from lawyers and clerks, using either Microsoft Word or Microsoft Visio
  • Assist as requested with corporate reorganizations
  • Assist with reporting on complex transactions
  • Scan, upload and organize Articles, Bylaws and all other minute book documents to DMS and CorpLink database
  • Perform due diligence searches as requested
  • Prepare and file registrations under the PPSA as well as corporate filings under Business Names Act and under the Corporations Information Act

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Corporate Law experience
  • Law Clerk Diploma
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel/Word/Outlook)
  • Previous experience with one or more corporate database; CorpLink is an asset
  • Able to retrieve corporate minute books as required from Firm's basement storage units and lifting boxes up to 20lbs
  • Strong ability to work independently and proactively
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies in recordkeeping
