Legal Assistant – Litigation (Weekends) (2904) Part Time

Job Description

Our client, known as Canada’s leading litigation practice, is looking for a Litigation legal assistant to work on weekends from 9:00AM – 5:00PM. This candidate should be dependable and able to work independently under minimal supervision. Responsibilities include transcribing and typing legal documents, scheduling, and other administrative duties as required. At least 3 years of litigation experience and a legal assistant diploma is essential. Our client is looking for quality people and is offering significant benefits to the successful candidate! Salary: Up to $45K

Primary Duties Include

  • Solely work with lawyers on weekends to assist them when needed
  • Assist with authorizations, undertakings, discoveries and productions
  • Coordinate and monitor administrative functions to ensure completion of work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Prepare and edit correspondence and legal documents
  • Manage the lawyer’s practice including opening files, filing, arranging meetings, scheduling hearing dates, arranging travel, etc.
  • Other duties as required

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience
  • Experience working with digital dictation and word styles
  • Ability work independently under minimal supervision
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated professionalism with all levels of staff and clients
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Solid typing skills
  • Strong technical skills (including Microsoft Office)
