Legal Assistant – Labour & Employment Litigation (3300) Full Time

Calling all Litigation legal assistants! Our client, one of Toronto’s most recognized labour and employment law firm is seeking a highly qualified and sophisticated Labour & Employment Assistant. The ideal candidate will come with 3+ years of experience in Litigation, exceptional written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills. Salary:  
Up to $60K
 
Primary Duties Include

  • Provide Legal Administrative support within the team
  • Manage incoming mail and emails, legal documents and file Summaries
  • Liaise with Lawyers, Courts, Boards, Panels and Arbitrators
  • Assist with schedule and calendar management, digital dictation, expense reporting, dockets and Accounts
  • Maintain electronic and physical filing
  • Correspond with clients
  • Transcribe and type digital dictation
  • Photocopy, file, etc.
  • Client intake
  • Other administrative duties as required  
 
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Litigation experience in a law firm; Labour and Employment experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Legal Assistant certificate/diploma plus additional courses an asset
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Superior organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Strong grammar and spelling skills
  • Stellar technical skills (including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to work well independently under minimal supervision as well as in a team setting
  • Must be extremely flexible to meet the daily needs of the practice
  • Excellent technical abilities
