Our Toronto based client is searching for a Mandarin speaking legal assistant to assist their busy paralegal. If you have strong organizational, have exceptional administrative skills and the ability to prioritize then this is the role for you! Salary: $35K - $45K 

Primary Duties Include

  • Preparation and drafting of correspondence and legal documents (including motion records, pre-trial/mediation memos, pleadings, affidavits of documents, etc.)
  • Scheduling appointments, court dates, examinations, medical appointments and general calendar maintenance
  • Review documentation and claims from new files
  • Organize and request productions and medical documentation from clients
  • Assist with authorizations, undertakings, discoveries and productions
  • Opening and closing files
  • Maintaining daily contact with clients and liaise with lawyers
  • Other general duties as required
  • Other duties as required

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Junior Law Clerk experience in Accident Benefits
  • Must be able to speak Mandarin and have sound knowledge in English; Cantonese is an asset
  • Legal assistant diploma plus additional courses an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both
  • independently and in a team oriented atmosphere
