Legal Assistant – Real Estate (2999) Full Time

Salary: $45K - $60K

Primary Duties Include

  • Must be experienced in commercial real estate, most specifically with: mixed-use developments, land development, industrial facilities, financings, builder sales, and condominiums
  • Administrative detail with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, calendar management, diarizing closing dates, docketing, and billings
  • Manage real estate files from start to finish
  • Completion and preparation of legal documents, inclusive of closing documents/reporting letters
  • Review purchase and sale agreements
  • Order off-title searches
  • Request title searches from our in-house Conveyancer; reviewing the returned package inclusive of checking instruments, etc.
  • Prepare and respond to requisition letters
  • Maintain office files and records in accordance with firm procedures
  • Other general duties as required

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Real Estate
  • Completion of a recognized Legal Assistant/Law Clerk program or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent communication skills with superb problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and exceptional client service skills
  • Strong knowledge of basic legal concepts, principles, and terminology
  • Meticulous with follow-up, able to take initiative, prioritize, and multi-task
  • Proficiency in: Teraview, Conveyancer, Microsoft Office 2013, Hummingbird Docs DM, or a similar Document Management System
  • Ability to work overtime if needed
